As more and more ex-pats come to live in Cyprus either in retirement, after spending countless summers on holiday on the island, or after taking advantage of the island’s entry into the European Union to set up in business in the sun, there is an increasing tendency amongst them of taking up Greek lessons. The majority want to be integrated with the local community and understand both their language and customs.
The lessons aim to provide a good grasp of the grammar on which to build a sound understanding of the language and make conversation. These are accompanied by practical exercises to compliment them and with particular emphasis on the fact that learning by association is more important than trying to learn the language in a parrot fashion.
