If you love music in your life then, in whatever form – listening, singing or playing, then our newly relaunched group offers the opportunity to explore all possibilities. Byzantine hymns or rembetika? Theodorakis or Telemann. From jazz to the classics, Grand Opera to Gilbert and Sullivan – and all in sociable and harmonious company!
We have started on a BBC Radio 4 series called "The Making of Music" tracing the development of music from the middle of the 19th Century to the present day, although this has been somewhat submerged by the preparation for the "scratch" performance of the Messiah.
We have members from Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos all rehearsing madly and more joining by the day. We are up to 60 already and having a great time. People are already asking what we will do next (!!!) and there is a feeling abroad that we can put together a Gilbert and Sullivan group too. It is a great joy to bring together singers from all our districts. |
