The planned trip to the North of Cyprus was cancelled due to lack of support.

There appears to be little interest in a regular meeting of the group,so for the time being there will be no ‘routine’ gatherings. However I am putting together a trip to Turkey ,provisionally fixed for the end of April 2009.

It will be a flight from Ercan airport ( Nicosia ) to Antalya with a series of guided excursions in the area of Pamphylia covering such sites as Perge,Aspendos,Side and Alanya. We also plan a trip into Lycian Turkey to see Termessos and Phaselis.

Accommodation will be in a 4 or 5 star Hotel which will be ‘home ‘ for the duration of the trip and most meals will be included. The object is to provide an opportunity to see sites that are not as well known as Ephesus (for example) but which have great historical significance and are relatively unspoilt by tourism.

A provisional costing should be available in about a fortnight’s time and numbers will be limited to provide comfortable travelling! People on the Travel Group mailing list will automatically receive full details – and I will be happy to add more names to the list.
